Commission: Welcome to the Troika... by SuperflatPsychosis Commission: Welcome to the Troika... by SuperflatPsychosis
"...Our finely tuned covert organization of the highest caliber in professionalism and - ah, forget it."

Poor Nainso, will the Troika ever live up to his claims? This is a commission for ezioauditore97, who wanted Mace to steal his DreamKeeper's jacket as a prank.

Looks like everything's going according to plan!

There you go, now you drawing stuff :D  An interesting prank to pull off, and I bet this is something the ladies don't want to miss LOL  Its so funny and cute :D

Seems Nainso selection of Employees is not that high standards, but hey, as long as they fight for the cause I suppose.  Not like he can get the real foot solders from the government.

Oh yes, here come the big guns! Well, Indi does seem to like those boxers :')

Perhaps the Troika is far more desperate than we realize.

Maybe something REALLY went south right before the GNS and they're really short on manpower(and jackets) tragically.

Oh,where to begin? The expressions would be a good place seeing your handle of nice cartoony expressions that are creative and allow for such varied degrees of astonishment while not going too overboard.

The poses are also very well done and incredibly playful and lively which is wonderful seeing as some of the characters might not have too terribly long to live so it's really nice to see them eccentric and happy when they're not being chased by bloodthirsty nightmares.

Ohh,and I realize I didn't want her initially and was conflicting over whom but,the one Indigo you added helps add a more whimsical reaction that maybe Scinter or Vi wouldn't allow so I'm pleased I took your suggestion. When you do start delving into the depth of their characters they are very layered, caring, and fun-loving rather than whatever mean or dirty stereotype somebody might draw up about them.I'd really like to see their relationship with the stoic, noble, and (presumably) misunderstood Igrath at one point or another since it would allow a heartwarming yet surprising story most likely.

Another thing you nailed would be the background;I didn't ask for much in that category but,you did something fitting for the Troika's base and did it well so kudos!

Now just two little nitpicks that are very minor and do not hinder my enjoyment factor of this wonderful piece;one is that Nainso while he is a stylized character is somewhat skinny and on Mace's elbow I would have a fur tuft there to be in line with how often his fur sticks out but, aside from that this is fantastically done to my specifications.

I do hope you enjoyed working on this and the fair amount of creative freedom I allowed you to exercise(You did have some good ideas while I was brainstorming to your credit). Honestly I cannot wait to frame the signed version of this baby up alongside my DK art I've acquired.(Like a Dragon hoarding gold,BWAHAHA!)

Talk about getting your kicks while you still can! I really hope most of these characters survive...even though I know they probably won't.

Thanks for letting me draw Indi, especially since her tail balances out the composition so well on the right. I also like the touch of warmth that she lends to the piece...I just hope she isn't overpowering it with all of that pink!

I'm similarly pleased with how the background turned out: simple, yet atmospheric!

I was looking at a few references of Nainso while drawing him and he's definitely more broad-shouldered than I made him out to be here, but lanky guys are my specialty. That being said, I should make a point to draw Grunn one of these days. It'll be Grunnderful.

I enjoyed this so much, you have no idea! Thanks again for the commission - this was a really fun piece to work on and I'll quote you the cost of the print when I can!

Well Dave and Liz aren't going to kill them all cheaply although I do suppose you can die for some really stupid reasons in real life. It's interesting how they have to balance tension without making the bad guys incompetent which isn't so much a problem in  action/platforming games persay where they cannot make the bad guys half blind or else it would be no challenge.Funny seeing as after 10 plus games the likeable Ratchet has only  tragically"died" once (Much better record than comic heroes to his credit) whereas in the gameplay after all those games I doubt many people can get through without at least one laser fried/flattened/eaten hero much less numerous ones.Interesting thought right there...........

Indi does have the benefit of a nice and kind personality;I could see her and her sister being some of the more sympatheric adults towards the main groups plight. Both her and Digo look rather fantastic in that color scheme if you ask me so I'd ought to draw the two of them like that sometime.

It's okay to have your own speciality;have fun with Grunn although I don't believe you'll have too many pose options for him;maybe sneaking him into your next group pic (Tedious though it may be) would work well since there's plenty to do there or at least throwing in something for him to react to in your sketch like a ruined case of Scinter's Mix  so you could have some fun at least with his expression.Igrath's fairly bulky too but,his wings and anatomical structure would permit for a greater array of poses but,I'm sure whatever you do will be great!

Glad you enjoyed it;I realize it was a commission and everything but,I don't mean to give out boring ideas;they're no fun from an art standpoint and when I pay for quality cartoonist's art it's better to have an idea that will bring out that essence rather than some static pose.(Not that they aren't cool from time to time but,at least some sign of life is better even if it just involves somebody looking the other way or whatnot.I do suppose I should do more action poses though or just draw more for that matter!)I'll get to paying you according when you get me the quote. Thanks yet again!

That's the thing - you want your protagonists to triumph, but at the same time you need them to work for it. Earn it, as it were. Incompetent bad guys should really be more of a scarcity than they currently are. You can put some mooks here and there, but still...
(Yes, and then you have the comics industry rebooting the entire universe whenever they feel like it.)

I think the Indigos would be fantastically motherly if given the chance. We'll just have to wait and see! I agree that they totally rock the pink - their Harvest Festival markings weren't too shabby, either!

Oh, I can think of a few poses for Grunn...definitely a few :')

This commission was anything but boring! I'm glad everything arrived in one piece - if I ever send you more envelopes, I'll be sure to toss in some more keychains!

Yes,it would be interesting seeing them act motherly in comparison to them helping as friends,it's just so fun seeing them try and then fall back on their beauty instinctively only to have that fail SPECTACULARLY.I am torn between the pink and harvest festival markings though a blackish-greyish scheme would be fun to experiment with.

Well,I look forward what you can do with Grunn;don't forget his little bunny tail now, that's just too quirky to lightly pass up using!

That sounds sweet! You don't have to ,but if you have plenty of spares and they're not likely to be going anywhere then it would be an honor. How much merchandise did you make?Bookmarks and whatnot are probably my favorites to have;ought to make some in the future myself.

To see them go full monochrome would be the coolest, especially since most of their markings thus far have been crazy-colorful. I can imagine that color scheme lending them a more sinister and wicked appearance...perhaps a good choice for a Halloween contest entry?

Don't you worry, I'll be sure to catch his fluffy, sensitive side : P

I have a container full of them, so there wouldn't be a shortage anytime soon. Bookmarks are a good idea - I should probably make some of those too...

Not quite so much making them evil as much as general night roamers vibe going on since their powers lend themselves more to them keeping a lot profile.

SO BEAUTIFAL ;_; so... Is this one of those $50 commissions? (You don't need to answer if it's none of my business.)
